STUDIES ON SEED GERMINATION AND GROWTH IN GLORIOSA SUPERBA L.

Studies on imposing seed germination in glory lily revealed that seeds soaked in hot water for one hour was recorded to be the best treatment with maximum germination of 32.75 % and vigor index (565.92). So, the seed treatment can be recommended as a nursery practice. Earlier germination (48.35 days) was observed for the seeds soaked in hot water, when compared to other chemical treatments. The maximum number of leaves and root length was recorded for the seeds soaked in GA 3 at a concentration of 250 ppm.
