Chloride secretion across such mono- layers will occur in response to co- culturing with sensitized mast cells 22, mast-cell-derived mediators 23 or neutro- phil-derived mediators 24. It is, there- fore, becoming possible, by reconstruc- tion, to study interactions between defined cell populations.
