Primjana biomarkera u geokemijskoj studiji istočnodravske potoline

Investigation of the biomarkers is useful in a geochemical study (especially for correlation) of the organic matter related to oil in generative basin(s) and/or depression(s). Biomarkers are compounds which occur as trace components in complex petroleum mixtures, and complex procedures are applied in their analysis which ultimately utilizes gas chromatography―mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The structures and distributions of biomarkers in eight oils and three source rocks from East Drava Depression were investigated in order to correlate the origin, maturity, and depositional environment of the related oils and source rocks
