Deactivation of solid promoter of CO oxidation in catalytic cracking
1986
Irreversible deactivation of the promoter KO-9 and another promoter, A, in contact with cracking feed were investigated by a procedure combining experiments in a laboratory cracking unit and a micropilot unit for oxidative regeneration. The reactor was charged with equilibrium KMTsR catalyst, mixed with 0.02% of the KO-9 promoter by weight. Two cracking feedstocks were used: a medium-sulfur vacuum gas oil and a hydrotreated vacuum gas oil. It is shown that the oxidation activity of the solid promoter drops off substantially due to contact with the feed, and that the promoters KO-9 and A are approximately identical in stability against deactivation due to contact with the cracking feed.
