Finite Element Analysis of Stress on Tooth Rim of a Flexspline

2003
I first established the finite element analys is model of the stress on the tooth rim of a flexspline, then compared the stress conditions on the tooth rim of flexsplines under the conditions of the same tran smission ratio, the same pitch circle, the same rim thickness, and the tooth diff erence coefficient k z =1,2. For the weakening of stiffness discontinuousnes s, the deformation form of flexsplines in harmonic drive with k z =2 is clos er to the theoretical form, this leads to the improvement of meshing quality and decrease of dynamic load; the deformation force decreases to 75%, therefore the weakening of wear among the wave generator flexbearing flexspline chain increas es transmission efficiency, the FEA analysis result of ratio of the maximum stre ss on flexspline tooth root agrees well with theoretical evaluation.
