Small Cell Carcinoma of Minor Salivary Glands of Palate:A Clinicopathologic Analysis

Objective:To study the clinicopathologic features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of small cell carcinoma(SCC) of salivary glands in oral and maxillofical.Method:This paper presented 2 case of SCC of minor salivary glands in palate and parotid gland. Pathological,clinical data and immunohistochemistry were analyzed retrospectively. Result:Microscopically, the tumour cell nests consisted of anaplastic small tumor cells, and had small foci of ductal differentiation. The tumor cells expressed NSE, and CD56 by immunohistochemical staining, but negative for Cg A,Syn,p63,S-100,actin and calponin. Conclusion:The tumor can be diagnosed with its characteristic small cells and at least two neuroendocrine markers can be expressed.
