DOĞUM SONU DÖNEMDE ANNELERİN ALGILADIKLARI SOSYAL DESTEK İLE BENLİK SAYGISI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

OZET Amac: Bu calisma dogum sonu donemde annelerin algiladiklari sosyal destek ile benlik saygisi arasindaki iliskinin incelenmesi amaciyla yapilmistir. Yontem: Tanimlayici nitelikte yapilan calismanin evrenini, 4 Şubat - 20 Mart 2016 tarihleri arasinda Erzurum Nene Hatun Kadin Dogum Hastanesi’nde dogum yapan anneler olusturmustur. Arastirmada, orneklem secimine gidilmeksizin belirtilen tarihler arasinda calismaya katilmayi kabul eden toplam 180 anneden veri toplanmistir. Verilerin toplanmasinda “Kisisel bilgi formu”, “Cok Yonlu Algilanan Sosyal Destek Olcegi ( CYASDO) ” ve “Rosenberg Benlik Saygisi Olcegi (RBSO)” kullanilmistir. Verilerin degerlendirilmesinde; yuzdelik dagilim, ortalama, standart sapma ve korelasyon kullanilmistir. Bulgular: Calismaya katilan annelerin yas ortalamasi 27.85 ±5.75’dir. Annelerin %53.3’u ilkokul mezunu, %90’i ev hanimidir. %64.4’u cekirdek aileye sahip olup, %60.6’sinin ekonomik durumu orta duzeydedir. Annelerin %30’unun 3 gebelik gecirdigi, %41.1’inin 3 ve uzeri cocuga sahip oldugu, %68.3’unun son gebeliklerinin planli oldugu belirlenmistir. %45’i dogum sonu donemde destek aldiklari kisinin anne-babalari oldugunu belirtmislerdir. Annelerin sosyal destek puan ortalamalarinin Aile alt boyutu 23.81 ±3.50, Arkadas alt boyutu 18.08±6.65, Ozel insan alt boyutu 23.51±3.89 oldugu ve toplam puan ortalamasi nin 65.41 ±11.32 oldugu saptanmistir. Annelerin benlik saygisi puan ortalamasi 2.68±0.87’dir. Annelerin %90’inin benlik saygilarinin orta duzeyde oldugu bulunmustur. Annelerin algiladiklari sosyal destek ile benlik saygilari arasinda anlamli iliski olmadigi saptanmistir (p>0.05). Sonuc: Calisma sonucunda annelerin algiladiklari sosyal destek duzeylerinin yuksek, benlik saygilarinin ise orta duzeyde oldugu saptanmistir. Algilanan sosyal destek ile benlik saygisi arasinda herhangi bir iliski olmadigi belirlenmistir. Hemsire/ebeler kadin, es ve ailesine gebelik doneminden baslayarak sosyal destek konusunda danismanlik yaparak eksik oldugu yonleri belirleyebilirler. Hemsire/ebeler kadinlarla guven verici iliskide bulunarak onlarin benlik saygilarini arttirabilir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Anne; Benlik Saygisi; Sosyal Destek ABSTRACT The Relationship Between Mothers' Perceived Social Support and Self-Esteem During Postpartum Aim: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between mothers' perceived social support and self-esteem. Methods: In this descriptive study, population consists of mothers who gave birth at Erzurum Nene Hatun Maternity Hospital between February 4 and March 20, 2016. In the study, data were collected from 180 mothers. The "Personal Information Form", "Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS)" and the "Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES)" was used for data collection. Percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation and correlation were used in order to evaluate the data. Results: The average age of the mothers who participated in the study was 27.85±5.75. Of the mothers, 53.3% was elementary school graduates, of which 90% was housewife. Of them, 64.4% has a nuclear family, and 60.6% has a moderate level of economic status. It was determined that, 30% of the mothers has had 3 pregnancies, 41.1% has 3 or more children, and 68.3% had a planned last pregnancy. Of the mothers, 45% stated that they have received support in the postpartum period from their parents. It was also found that mean social support sub-scale scores of the mothers were 23.81±3.50 in the Family sub-scale, 18.08±6.65 in the Friends sub-scale, 23.51±3.89 in the Loved ones sub-scale, and the mean total score was found to be 65.41±11.32. Mothers' mean self-esteem score was 2.68±0.87. 90% of the mothers were found to have a moderate level of self-esteem. And, no significant relationship was found between mothers' perceived social support and self-esteem (p>0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was found that mothers have higher perceived social support, and moderate level of self-esteem. Perceived social support and self-esteem were not found to be correlated. Nurses / midwives can advise women, spouses and family about social support by starting from the pregnancy period and identifying the deficiencies.
