Study on Institutional Energy Consumption Scenario and Implement an Optimum System

Energy is one of the major factors of sustainable development. Saving a single joule of energy from the conventional system makes a huge impact on the economy of the country. In this paper, a study is done on energy consumption scenarios for an educational institution in Bangladesh. This includes the design and implementation of an optimum energy-saving system. The study finds that about 64% of energy is consumed unnecessarily. By using the designed system, unwanted operation of the load and negligence are avoided and it can save about 80% of light load. Considering only the working period it can save about 44.44% light load, 32.7% of the fan load, and 22% of air-conditioner load.
