Performance of bimetallic pipe used on the radiant heating surfaces of supercritical pressure boilers

1983
Increasing the reliability of supercritical pressure boiler water wall surfaces most subject to stresses is a matter of great concern. The use of bimetallic piping in the lower radiating section of boilers in some applications permits the omission of high-alloy stainless steel. An experimental study, conducted under operating conditions, of the operating characteristics of bimetallic piping in boilers is described. The advantages of using bimetallic tubes in steam generator water walls are discussed.
