Die Zeißholzer Kanne , ein Fund der Černjachov-Sântana de Mureş-Kultur
2006
This article deals with a jug, a black coloured vessel thrown on a wheel. It was found in 1928 near the small village of Zeisholz in Saxonia and is unique in Germanic territory. Parallel finds were discovered in a grave in Hungary and around the Black Sea where hundreds of examples have been found. In these regions jugs similar to that from Zeisholz appear in settlements and graveyards from the Cernjachov-Sântana de Mures-Culture, which is commonly believed to be connected to the Goths. The jug possibly dates back to the end of the 4 th century.
