PCDDs/PCDFs reduction by good combustion technology and fabric filter with/without activated carbon injection

1996
Abstract In order to reduce polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) in exhaust gases from MSW incineration plants, the treatment of the gases by using a fabric filter (FF) is available as one of the applicable methods. It has been reported that a FF removes not only particles and acids gases but heavy metals. Our method using a FF enabled the efficient removal of PCDDs/PCDFs and mercury in operating plants. In particular, the concentration of PCDDs/PCDFs was successfully reduced to 0.1 ng/m 3 N-TEQ.
