Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment

This article reviews the development history of public participation in EIA , expounds the status and function of public participation in environmental impact assessment, analyses the existent problems of public participation in EIA in China. Considering these problems, countermeasures to perfect technical support system and enhance the efficiency of public participation were put forward from three aspects: law support; public environmental quality and technical regulation.
