Benchmarking different direct solution methods for large power system simulation
2010
Computational performances are critical both for real-time simulation and large system off-line simulation. In many cases the core of the solution is the process of matrix inversion of an algebraic system of equations. The paper analyzes currently available inversion processes as implemented in freely available libraries. The analysis is performed in reference to the characteristics of modern power systems both naval and terrestrial. A simulation platform, the Virtual Test Bed, is used as testing scenario for the comparison.
