Inhibitor of hiv reverse transcriptase

PURPOSE: To obtain an indole that is useful for prophylaxis or treatment of HIV infection and for treatment of AIDS or ARC. CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor is a compound of formula I [X is H, Cl, F, Br, NO 2 , CN, OR 2 ; Y is S(O) n (n is 0-2), CR 2 R 2 , O; R is H, an alkyl, an aryl, a hetero ring; Z is formula II (W is O, S, N-CN, N-OR 1 ), C(O)OR 1 , formula III, an alkyl, CN; R 1 is H, an alkyl, an aryl, a hetero ring; R 2 is H, an alkyl; R 3 is an alkyl, an aryl, a hetero ring, an alkoxy, OH, a cycloalkyl, H; R 6 is H, C(O)R 1 , C(O)NHR 1 ], or its medicinally acceptable salt or ester, typically N- ethyl-5-chloro-3-phenylthioindole-2-carboxamide.
