RFLP Standardization Report for DQ Beta/BamHI

1989
The DQ-beta/BamHI system identified 22 fragments (Table 1). Eight of these fragments–St. fragment nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 14, 16, and 21–were not included in the analysis (no locus assignments) as they were very faint and seen only on a few films. Possible reasons for the occurrence of these fragments could be either a very weak cross-hybridization to another locus or a partial digestion of some DNA preparations. Of the remaining 14 fragments, eight hybridized exclusively or most strongly with the DQ beta probe (see Table 1), while one fragment (no. 6) hybridized equally strongly with both the DQ beta and the DP beta probes (see also the report for the DP-beta/BamHI system). Three fragments hybridized most strongly with the DR beta probe and another three hybridized most strongly with the DP beta probe (see Table 2 in the DR-beta/BamHI report).
