Multiphoton processing technologies applied in laser-based 3D printing

2018
Multiphoton absorption paves the way for the next generation of laser processing, as ultrashort laser sources become more stable and accessible. Micrometer scale 3D printing using various materials, either through additive or subtractive manufacturing, offers a clean, precise and reproducible method of fabricating various passive devices for biomedical applications. In this paper we present and discuss biomimetic scaffolds for tissue engineering fabricated through two-photon polymerization additive manufacturing and microfluidic devices fabricated through two-photon absorption subtractive manufacturing of photosensitive glasses.
