Induction of Ovulation by Combined GnRH-Analogue/hMG/hCG Treatment

1990
Exogenous administration of human gonadotropins (hMG/hCG) is highly effective in infertility patients suffering from hypogonadotropic amenorrhea classified as WHO I. Pregnancy rates are reported on the order of 80% [1]. In anovulatory infertility patients with normal gonadotropin levels (WHO II), however, hMG/hCG treatment is less effective, achieving pregnancy rates only between 15 and 28% [2].
