Social engagement of universities: more than just education

2014
This paper will describe in detail the process of implementing the Social Enterprise and Economic Development (SEED) programme in the South East Asia countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. The programme aims to assist future entrepreneurs to recognize and design unique, innovative business opportunities, based on the analysis of local conditions and their own individual skills. On the other hand, to train students in inter-cultural entrepreneurship and management, enabling them to experience and learn to operate inter-culturally and in new socio-cultural contexts as entrepreneurs, strategists and change agents (leaders) to bring about sustainable economic development through their enterprising efforts at the community.
