The invention discloses an electronic receipt system, a management server, a processing device and a control method. The distribution of electronic receipts can be distinguished clearly. A merchandise sales data processing device comprises an electronic receipt generating part, a receipt information generating part and a sending part. The electronic receipt generating part generates electronic receipt information related to merchandise sales data corresponding to member codes of consumers. When the distribution of receipts is indicated, the receipt information generating part generates a state representing the condition that the receipts related to merchandise sales data are distributed. The sending part sends enterprise codes representing enterprises, the electronic receipt information generated by the electronic receipt generating part and the related state to the electronic receipt management server which sends and manages the receipts.
