Experiences on the analysis of PCDDs and PCDFs in pulp and paper industry matrices

Some remarks on the analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in pulp and paper industry matrices are presented. The way in which samples are dried and the solvent which is used for extraction can affect the results. For the separation of individual congeners, three capillary columns with different lengths and polarities have been compared. The effect of the resolution of the mass spectrometer has been tested for pulp samples.
