Athlete Panel Discussion

This chapter, transcribed from a panel discussion at the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Center conference on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), begins with the role of the Concussion Legacy Foundation (ConcussionFoundation.org). The panel discussion with one former boxer and two former NFL players ensues. Issues discussed include these athletes’ concerns for the possible development of CTE in themselves and in others currently engaged in boxing or football. The athletes were also asked about whether they would allow their children to follow in their footsteps in boxing or football. Lastly, questions were taken from the conference participants.
