Heart rate variability analysis and anesthesia depth monitoring

2011
Background Heart rate variability(HRV)which is mainly regulated by autonomic nervous,is applied to evaluate the influences of the autonomic nerve function caused by anesthesia and surgical stimulation dynamically and quantificationally, and also provide information for monitoring the depth of anesthesia. Objective Exploring the clinical feasibility of HRV in monitoring depth of anesthesia.Content In this paper, the relationship between HRV and the central nervous system (CNS),the methods and related research of HRV for monitoring depth of anesthesia are reviewed.Trend HRV can provide sufficient information for monitoring the depth of anesthesia from the perspective of changes in automatic nervous function during perioperatively. Key words: Anesthesia depth;  Heart rate variability;  Automatic nervous system
