Means of increasing raw material resources for production of active carbon black

1967
1. The possibility for increasing the output of raw material for the production of active carbon black by means of extraction of catalytically cracked gas oils of expanded fractional composition, obtained from sour and low-sulfur crudes, was shown. 2. Testing of experimental extract samples from 195–420°C fractions in a pilot installation at NIIShP with cyclone reactor showed that carbon balck obtained from these extracts corresponded to standards for PM-70 carbon black and carbon black yield was of the same magnitude as that obtained from green oil. 3. Raffinates distilling within the 195–350°C range may be utilized in production of diesel fuels and raffinate residues above 350°C in the catalytic cracking process.
