Characteristics of Habitat Use of Pheasant-tailed Jacana Hydrophasianus chirurgus in Upo Wetland

요 약이연구는2013년6월부터8월까지우포늪에서번식하는물꿩Hydrophasianuschirurgus의서식지이용특성에대하여조사하였다. 연구의목적은물꿩의개체군관리를위한정보를수집하기위함이다. 연구기간중둥지는총4개가관찰되었으며, 둥지의위치는수변으로부터56.2±16.37m에있었다. 물꿩의둥지는모두가시연꽃(Euryale ferox) 위에 만드는 것으로 확인되었고, 둥지재료는 생이가래(Salvinia natans), 개구리밥(Spirodelapolyrhiza), 붕어마름(Ceratophyllumdemersum), 자라풀(Hydrocharisduvia) 등의수생식물을이용하는것으로나타났다. 번식활동에가장큰방해요인으로작용하는것은인간의간섭인것으로나타났고, 방해시알을옮기는행동이관찰되었다. 관찰된4개의둥지중2개의둥지에서알을옮기는행동이관찰되었으며, 약1~2m 정도옮긴것을확인하였다. 우포늪은가시연꽃군락이넓게분포하고있고, 수심또한안정적으로유지되고있기때문에매년우포늪을찾아오는물꿩의수는늘어날것으로예상된다. 과거에는우리나라를찾는물꿩의수가적어관리계획에포함되어있지않았으나, 최근들어규칙적으로도래하고있고, 개체수도증가하는추세라개체군관리를위한방안마련이필요할것으로판단된다.핵심용어:물꿩, 서식지이용, 우포늪, 가시연꽃AbstractThis study is on the characteristics of habitat use of Pheasant-tailed Jacana Hydrophasianuschirurgus inUpo-wetland from June to August in 2013. The purpose is population management of Pheasant-tailed Jacana.Four nests were founded which are located in 56.2±16.37m from the waterside. Pheasant-tailed Jacana madetheir nests above Euryaleferoxwhich consists with water plants such as Salvinianatans, Spirodelapolyrhiza,Ceratophyllumdemersum, Hydrocharisduviaand so on. Human beings seem to be the biggest obstacle oftheir breeding, according to this, Pheasant-tailed Jacana moved their eggs. Only two out of four nests, theymoved their eggs and the distance was 1 to 2 meters from the nests. Since plant community of Euryaleferoxis extensively distributed and water level also keep stable in Upo-wetland, the number of Pheasant-tailedJacana coming to Upo-wetland is expected to increase every year.
