Preparation and luminescent properties of orange reddish emitting phosphor BiCa2VO6:Eu3+

2018
Orange reddish and double-perovskite phosphors Bi1−xCa2VO6:xEu3+(x = 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.1, 0.14, 0.18) were prepared by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The structure was studied by X-ray diffraction .The fluorescence and decay properties were investigated by the fluorescence spectrometer. Experiments results showed the optimum synthetic temperature was 950 °C. The BiCa2VO6 phosphor showed a green broad emission peaking at 530 nm with a corresponding excitation at 280 nm. The Bi1−xCa2VO6:xEu3+ phosphor excited at 395 nm showed orange reddish emission with four narrow emission peaks owing to 5D0→7FJ (J = 0, 1, 2) transitions of Eu3+. The optimal Eu3+ doping concentration was 10 mol%. The lifetime decreased from 0.51 to 0.33 ms with the increase of the Eu3+ concentration within the range 0.02 ~ 0.18 mol. In addition, the phosphors showed good thermal stability up to 250 °C.
