Background : Primary headache is considered as global health problem because of high prevalence, lifelong duration, and disability for patient. There are many factors that contribute primary headache, i.e. physical activity, smoking, sleep quality, stress, and weather change. The purpose of this study is to perceive the association of physical activity and primary headache in preclinical Medical student Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University. Method: This study is analytical cross-sectional study with primary data from IPAQ-SF, WHO WBI, and primary headache questionnaires. In this study, 384 samples are fulfilled inclusion criteria. Result: Among 384 subjects, 67 (17.4%) students have migraine, 77 (20.1%) students have tension type headache, 3 (0.8%) students have cluster headache. Chi Square test showed that there was an association between physical activity and primary headache, while there was no association between stress and primary headache. Conclusion: There is an association between physical activity and primary headache in preclinical medical student Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University.
