Analytical Note: A Dilution Strategy for Dilute Conductivity Measurements

filters during water filtration. This buildup may lead to the potential buildup of toxic products that then could flush through the filter when the filter capacity is reached. However, it should be noted that postdisinfection of filtered samples may reduce significantly the levels of bacteria in the effluent. Such a practice has been suggested by the US EPA. The data also point out the need for continued research on the microbial colonization of GAC filters and the role of bacterial endotoxins as toxic agents in potable water.
