Combine Effects of Fear of Terrorism and Psychological Capital on Job Outcomes

With the two waves study design and a samples (N= 368 paired responses) of employee working in various organisations of Pakistan, the authors examined effects of fear of terrorism on turnover intention, supervisor rated job Performance and job stress. They also examined the main effects of psychological capital on job outcomes. Based on conservation of resource theory (COR), moderating role of psychological capital in the fear of terrorism and outcome relationship was also examined. Finding of the study suggested that fear of terrorism was significantly related with all job outcome. Similarly, psychological capital had a significant relationship with employee turnover intentions and supervisor rated job performance. Moderation analysis suggested that the positive relationship between fear of terrorism with job stress, turnover intention and negative relationship with supervisor rated job performance was weaker when psychological capital was high.
