Analysis of a certain type of 2 x 3 tables, exemplified by biopsy findings in a controlled clinical trial.

1978
: A procedure is described for the evaluation of 2 X 3 Tables, in which the two rows correspond to the two treatments to be compared and the three columns are ordered classifications ("improved", "unchanged", "deteriorated"). The method is illustrated by an example taken from the recent literature: liver biopsy data from a controlled clinical trial of silymarin in the treatment of chronic hepatitis.
