1H NMR spectroscopic investigation of the kinetics of the equilibrium between Z and E isomers

A 1 H NMR spectroscopic investigation of the kinetics of the interchange process in the equilibrium between the Z and E isomers of a stable phosphorus ylide containing a 2-benzoxazolinone group has been undertaken. Activation data (k-1, k1, ktotal, Ea1, Ea-1, Eatotal, DS # , DH # , and DG # ) and thermodynamic data (Ke, DH, DG, and DS) for the forward and reverse steps of the opposing reaction were obtained experimentally.
