Associations between dyslipidemia and pregnancy outcomes in the first complete cycle of IVF/ICSI: a real-world analysis

2021
Abstract Research question Are there any associations between dyslipidemia and pregnancy outcomes in the first complete cycle of in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI)? Design This was a long-term, retrospective real-world analysis involving 5030 infertile women who underwent first complete IVF/ICSI cycle from January 2015 to October 2020. Patients were categorized into the dyslipidemia group (n=1903) and the control group (n=3127) according to serum lipid levels prior to controlled ovarian stimulation. Propensity score (PS) matching and multivariable logistic regression were used to control for confounding variables. Results In the raw cohort, women with dyslipidemia had significantly increased late miscarriage rate, decreased term birth rate and live birth rate compared to non-dyslipidemia women (P Conclusions Dyslipidemia, TC≥5.20mmol/l and degrees of elevated serum lipid levels are negatively associated with live birth rate in the first complete IVF/ICSI cycle of infertile women.
