Robust Setpoint Tracking of a Linear System with Discrete Actuators

This study evaluates the problem of robust setpoint tracking of a linear system with discrete actuators. Robust controller design for a system with quantized control inputs is based on the Lyapunov function by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the proposed robust control method is investigated using a system with uncertainties - the plate heat exchanger. The closed-loop performance of the proposed robust controller is compared to that of the non-robust controller designed. The simulation results illustrate improved robustness and control performance.
