Clinical study on Negative Symptom-based Schizophrenia Treated with Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety in negative symptom-based schizophrenia between integrative Chinese and western medicine and simple western medicine.Methods 128 cases of negative symptom-based schizophrenia diagnosed in accordance with the CCMD-3 schizophrenia criteria were randomized into control group and research group,64 cases in each one.In control group,routine treatment with anti-psychosis drugs was applied.In research group,on the basis of treatment as control group,the self-prepared Chinese herb decoction was supplemented.Results The markedly effective rate was 60.9%,and the effective rate was 96.8% in research group and they were 42.2% and 81.3% respectively in control group.There was significant difference in effective rate in the comparison of two groups(P0.05).The incidence of adverse reaction in research group was lower than that in control group.Conclusion Integrative Chinese and western medicine has superior clinical efficacy on negative symptom-based schizophrenia with less adverse reaction.This therapy presents prospective future in study and application.
