would like to offer a few comments on the statements on page 305 that chlorine dioxide "... appears to be only marginally superior to chlorine, particularly when chlorination is carried far enough to produce free residuals; and two, on-site generation is necessary and is expensive. Therefore, it does not seem to present a viable alternative to chlorine at the present time, at least for use on a wide scale."
