Характеристика загальних та регіональних особливостей динаміки материнської смертності в Україні

General and regional peculiarities of maternal mortality dynamics in Ukraine for the period 1990-2010 were studied. It is established, that despite general trend towards decrease, maternal mortality dynamics is characterized by substantial fluctuation of rates of changes in different years and absence of their specific vector. Index ratio is close to the average one in CIS countries, however it is 2.5-4 times bigger comparing to that of EU countries and substantially (by 68,1%) differs from the model indexes of WHO and UNISEF (2008). This fact evidences the low reliability of the national index of maternal mortality. Analysis of maternal mortality in different regions shows a significant fluctuation of index (difference between the highest and the lowest indexes is 2,1 times) and absence of stable dynamics during the years.
