Grain Refining of Mg-Al Alloys

The researching advances on grain refining of Mg-Al alloys are reviewed. Grain refining methods of Mg-Al alloys include C-inoculation,superheating,anhydrous FeCl3 additions,etc. These methods all have some disadvantages. So new grain-refining methods of Mg-Al alloys have been searched by scholars at home and abroad,and significant development has been obtained. At the same time,valuable research findings are found about the mechanism of grain refinement of Mg-Al alloys.
