Influence of Catalyst Calcination Temperature on Flame Pyrolysis Synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes

2012
In flame pyrolysis synthesis, carbon nanotubes were obtained using substrate-supported catalyst Fe/Mo/Al2O3 and CO as carbon feedstock. To study the influence of calcination temperatures in the procedure of catalyst, six experimental conditions were designed. The morphology and microscopic structure of samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectrometer.Analysis shows, under this experimental conditions, with the calcination temperature being about 800-1000 ℃,carbon nanotubes samples have a better quality and yield. When the catalysts were baked at about 900 ℃,single-wall carbon nanotubes of high quality were synthesized.
