Localized 'ant nest' corrosion of copper tubing and preventive measures
1993
An unusual form of copper tube corrosion has been detected early in service And in leakage tests after manufacturing. The morphology of this corrosion is similar to an ant nest when viewed in cross section. Cases of the premature failure of copper tubes, simulation tests, corrosion mechanisms, and preventive measures are discussed
