Abstract The study had purpose to evaluate the possible electrocardiographicalalterations and the histopathological alterations in the lung of dogssubmited by left pneumonectomy with comparative approachbetween two types of suture of bronchial stamp (manual andmechanical). We used twelve dogs, males and females, adults, mongreldogs, weighting between 15 and 20 kilograms and evaluated themacroscopic alterations of right lung and the alterations ofelectrocardiogram. All animals showed clinical condition satisfactoryin the post operated time. The electrocardiographical alterations weredeviation of cardiac axis, sinoatrial block and miocardial isquemia.The histopathological alterations were pulmonary atelectasis,proliferations of bronchiole epithelium tended to obliterations andpulmonary emphysema. The study suggested that right lung wassubmited to pulmonary hipertension.
