IMUNOGLOBULIN YOLK ANTI Streptococcus agalactiae UNTUK IMUNOTERAPI PENYAKIT STREPTOCOCCOSIS PADA IKAN NILA (Oreochromis niloticus)

2020
Streptococcus agalactiae resulting in significant economic losses. Streptococcosis prevention and control strategies are through vaccination, both active and passive vaccinations. Yolk immunoglobulin is one type of antibody that can be used for passive vaccination. This study aims to obtain immunoglobulin yolk (IgY) specific to S. agalactiae for immunotherapy for streptococcus disease in tilapia. IgY is produced from vaccinated chicken eggs with inactivated S. agalactiae bacteria. The method used is the preparation and propagation of S. agalactiae , immunization of chickens, collection of chicken eggs and purification. The IgY produced was proven to be specific to S. agalactiae by immunoblotting and dot blot tests. Biological tests were carried out using mice (BALB C) to see the opsonization activity by macrophages. Application of IgY in tilapia is done as an infection prevention agent and treatment of S. agalactiae infections. The experimental results show that IgY anti S. agalactiae provides protection against S. agalactiae infection.
