The embodiment of the invention discloses a method and a device for mining sort named entities. The method comprises the following steps of at first, matching at least one seed word in a preset target sort with a query clause/word in a query clause/word set to obtain at least one target sort template corresponding to at least one seed word, wherein the query clause/word set is the set consisting of history query sentences/words input into a search engine by a user; matching at least one target sort template with the query clause/word in the query clause/word set to obtain at least one candidate named entity corresponding to at least one target sort template under the target sort. By the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the mining accuracy can be improved, and the query clause/word input into a search product by the user can be well understood subsequently.
