Design and CPFD Simulation of a Novel Fluidized Beds Reactor

In order to obtain better performance such as low pressure and high adsorbent utilization in gas-solid fluidized bed reactor, a novel fluidized beds reactor (FBsR) is proposed in this article. The particle volume fraction, gas velocity and pressure distribution in the FBsR were calculated by the numerical method. The results show that the novel design of FBsR can get a large inlet area which enables low inlet velocity in every fluidized bed, thus yielding a low pressure in every fluidized bed of the FBsR. Furthermore, the FBsR can get high adsorption efficiency and low cost for frequently replacing the adsorbents due to full gas-solid contact and slight collisions between the adsorbents in every fluidized bed of the FBsR.
