Study of Target Value Determination Method for Feedback Control during Shifting in an Automatic Transmission.

Target value determination method for feedback control during gear shifting has been investigated in order to improve drivability for a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Feature of the method is to equalize target value with estimated driven shaft torque until starting time of feedback control and to set up target value from torque changing point which occurs at the beginning of inertia phase. Therefore, deviation of the estimated torque and target value when starting time of feedback control becomes almost zero and smoth gear shift by feedback control can be realized. Moreover, smooth gear shift control method based on the estimated torque during accelerator pedal operating has been proposed and the effectiveness of the proposed control method has been verified.
