EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN TRUCK DIESELS COMPARED

1983 
European and North American truck diesel engine manufacturers use different design and development concepts. This paper discusses some of these differences with regard to: engine characteristics, engine life, lubricating oil systems, piston/liner assemblies, and valve trains. Future European trends are also outlined.
