Behavior of 4-(3,4-dimethyl-phenyl)-1(2 H)-phthalazinone towards carbon electrophiles and carbon nucleophiles

Dimethyl-phenyl)-1(2H)-phthalazinone was use d as key starting material for synthesis a new seri es of 1,4- disubstituted phthalazines, 2,4-disubstituted phtha lazinones, and fused 1,2,4-triazolo-phthalazines de pending on the principles of lactam-lactim dynamic equilibrium phe nomena. The structure of the prepared compounds are elucidated using physical and spectral data like, F T-IR, 1 HNMR, and mass spectroscopy.
