ENERGÍA ELÉCTRICA A PARTIR DE RECURSOS GEOTÉRMICOS. ESTADO ACTUAL Y PERSPECTIVAS A NIVEL MUNDIAL

2009
Geothermal energy is used today in several countries for electrical power production. Although technology used is well established, it represents only a small percentage of world electricity production due to the fact that only some of the scarce high temperature reservoirs existing in the world are used. Nowadays the development of new exploitation techniques will convert in limitless, in a humanity-needs scale, this renewable resource. Some studies foresee that geothermal power production will be a key stone in the supply of electricity worldwide in a few years. Today rapid growing of the number of geothermal installations in Germany is a clear example of what may happen in other countries in a near future.
