Knowledge competency of trainers at pre-service training centers of auxiliary nurse midwives in Odisha.

Research Question: Do the trainers at Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Training Centers (ANMTCs) have adequate knowledge to impart pre-service training to the future auxiliary nurse midwives? Settings: All the 16 government owned ANMTCs in Odisha. Study Design: Cross-sectional Participants: Trainers (including principal tutors and other tutors) working at the 16 government owned ANMTCs in Odisha. Methodology: Questionnaire was framed on seven core competencies for midwives as laid down by International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and administered to the tutors. Results: Baring certain areas like public health and ethics the knowledge competency of the tutors at these ANMTCs is adequate.
