The effects of SB203580 on the immune cells of irradiated mice

2011
Purpose The aim of this study is to observe the effects of p38 inhibitor SB203580(SB)on the immune cells in the radiated mice. Methods C57BL/6 mice were divided into control group, irradiated group, and SB group. The control group received sham irradiation, and the rest accepted 2Gy total body irradiation, and dose rate 0.8 Gy/min.SB was intraperitoneally injected 15 mg/kg at 1,3,5,7,9 day after irradiation. After 2Gy irradiation 10 day,the peripheral bloods were collected by eyeballs enucleation. Then the immune cells phenotypes in peripheral bloods were analyzed by flowcytometry. Results The proportion of B220 and WBC in the irradiated mice significantly decreased, and CD4 and ROS levels of bone marrow cells increased significantly(P0.05).Compared to irradiation group, lymphocyte rate increased and ROS levels of bone marrow cells decreased in the SB group(P0.05).Conclusion The p38 inhibitor has a certain impact on the radiation-induced changes in immune cell phenotypes.
