Tuning the optical characteristics of SiO2/MnO2 nanostructures doped organic blend for photodegradation of organic dyes
2021
In present work, the structural and optical characteristics of (PEO–PVP–SiO2–MnO2) nanocomposites films for photodegradation of organic dyes have been investigated. The optical properties of (PEO–PVP–SiO2–MnO2) nanocomposites were studied in the wavelength range (220–820) nm. The results indicated that the optical parameters of (PEO–PVP) blend were enhanced with the increase in SiO2/MnO2 nanoparticles concentration. The absorbance and optical conductivity were increased about 52% and 34% respectively with adding of 4.5 wt% MnO2 NPs, this behavior is useful for optoelectronics, photocatalysis, the solar cells and diodes applications. The energy gap for allowed and forbidden transitions were decreased about 68.4% and 92.4% respectively with adding of 4.5 wt% MnO2 nanoparticles which is useful in low cost and lightweight electronics and optics devices. The results of photodegradation applications showed good degradation, high diffusion and dispersion of nanoparticles.
