Control system simulation for 360MN extrusion machine based on physical model

This paper proposes a mechanism-hydraulic co-simulation platform constituted by ADAMS and EASY5 software for the control system evaluation and design of a 360MN extrusion machine. One advantage of the co-simulation platform is that it can help experimenters get the critical data fully close to reality more easily which can help them make a better evaluation and judgment in control system design stage. Simulation of two types of control designs to maintain the balance of the main table through the control of 6 hydraulic cylinders is demonstrated. Consensus control design coordinating the hydraulic cylinders seems outperform the decoupled PID controllers and worthwhile for further investigations.
